THL Umpire Registration

Waiver

The State Umpire in Chief, State Assistant UIC, and the Tar Heel League, Inc. Executive Board have exclusive authority to assign or remove umpires for state tournaments. Umpire selections are based on several factors, including those that best serve Tar Heel Leagues, Inc. (THL). All tournament requests will be reviewed and considered. State tournament umpire assignments are made by the State UIC in consultation with the Assistant UIC and Executive Board, with recommendations from the full Board of Directors.

I agree to serve as an independent contractor for any assignment I receive. I also agree to hold THL, its Board of Directors, and tournament hosts harmless from any liability for injury or damage arising from an assignment. I certify that I am physically and mentally able to officiate the games assigned to me. I will notify the THL State UIC or Assistant UIC of any team-related conflicts of interest.

I understand and agree that this registration is valid for one year only and does not obligate THL to provide any specific number or type of assignments. Any assignment I receive may be canceled by the State UIC if cancellation is deemed to be in the best interest of the official or THL.

I agree to follow all policies, directives, and guidance in the THL rulebook, including rules issued by the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS), the THL State UIC, and the Assistant UIC. Applying for membership is voluntary and acknowledges that THL is a private, nonprofit organization that may impose restrictions and requirements on its members. These may include standards for dress, grooming, and conduct while participating in any THL activity. One such restriction prohibits public displays of political or social protest while on any THL assignment. By completing this registration, I agree to comply with any standard or restriction imposed by THL or the THL State UIC.

I certify that I have not been charged with or convicted of any felony or any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude. If I am charged with a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, I will immediately notify the THL UIC.

By completing this form and clicking submit, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the above waiver and that I am electronically signing this registration and agreeing to its terms.

I understand that my registration is not complete until the registration fee has been paid.

Clicking "Submit" will take you to a payment platform (CheddarUp) where you can pay the Registration Fee online.

DISCLAIMER: Participants, umpires, and observers who take part in softball or baseball activities do so with an understanding of the risks and potential exposure involved and agree to accept all inherent risks to their personal health.
